Top Ten Tuesday 4.16

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s theme is: Rainy Day Reads (submitted by Shayna @ Clockwork Bibliotheca)

YES!!! April showers better bring those May flowers, because they’ve been following me as I travel from North Carolina to Maine!

I’m settled back in the north, and even though there’s still snow on the ground and I’m ready for summer!

For now let’s take a look at some books that are great to read on these rainy spring days!

Horrorstör – BOOK REVIEW

Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland, Ohio. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken Kjerring bookshelves, shattered Glans water goblets, and smashed Liripip wardrobes. Sales are down, security cameras reveal nothing, and store managers are panicking.

To unravel the mystery, three employees volunteer to work a nine-hour dusk-till-dawn shift. In the dead of the night, they’ll patrol the empty showroom floor, investigate strange sights and sounds, and encounter horrors that defy the imagination.

A traditional haunted house story in a thoroughly contemporary setting, Horrorstör comes packaged in the form of a glossy mail order catalog, complete with product illustrations, a home delivery order form, and a map of Orsk’s labyrinthine showroom.

Designed by Andie Reid, cover photography by Christine Ferrara

I don’t read a lot of horror so take my review (as with any review) with a grain of salt!

An Announcement & a Favorite Quote

I’m on the road again & summer is approaching fast. Summer means that unfortunately blogging is going to take a back seat, so. I’m making the decision now to cut back on blogging to maybe just two or so times a week.

I don’t want blogging to be a pain, at the end of the day I blog to share my love of books. So I’m excited to make this change so this blog can continue to be that place.

I hope you guys will stick with me, and if you have any ideas for blog posts, I’d love to hear them!

With that, I’ll leave you with a quote from The Fault in Our Stars, that gives me a lot of motivation for blogging.

My Favorite Springy Book Covers

Since I’m desperately clinging onto spring today as I begin my journey north (where it’s still snowing) & since I have a love for beautiful book covers, I thought I’d keep the season going in my heart through them!

These book covers make me feel warm (but not hot), remind me of the spring sunshine or maybe those April showers too?, & of flowers blooming.
